About the shade
Thistle Haze is a muted gray lavender, softer than lilac and more gray than purple. It's lighter and cooler than Damson Plum. In daylight it looks almost silvery, and in warm light the purple comes through more. It's a soft, dusky color, closer to twilight than to bright spring flowers.
Where you'll see it
Thistle blooms, lavender fields at dusk, hydrangeas as they fade, and early morning mist. It's in wisteria, chive blossoms, dove feathers, and the sky just after sunset. Look for it in heather on a hillside, pale amethyst, and the shadows on snow.
In your home
A bedroom, a bathroom, a nursery, or a home office. It pairs well with sage, cream, silver, and blush. Soft bedding, a painted bookcase, or a linen curtain are gentle ways to try it. In a living room it's lovely on an armchair or a set of pillows, and in a bathroom it pairs well with white tile and silver fixtures.
In everyday life
A flowy blouse, a bundle of dried lavender, a notebook, or a bar of handmade soap by the sink. It's in a silk scarf, a soft cardigan, nail polish, or a ceramic dish for your jewelry. Wherever you like to daydream, it tends to fit right in.
Color and spirit
Soft lavenders are traditionally tied to the crown chakra, associated with spirituality and intuition. Lavender has been used for centuries in rituals of rest and cleansing, and in feng shui light purple is linked with abundance and blessings. Lepidolite and lavender amethyst are crystals often associated with this color, lepidolite as a stone of peace. Notice whether it feels like dusk or dawn to you.
